Because a running K20A2 with trans and LSD are about $3k. So it’s a $6k and some labor for a car that probably has more than $3k in parts alone installed.
Honestly not a horrible deal, if FWD is your thing and you have access to a K20 powertrain.

Sometimes the whole is worth less than the sum of the parts. Why not but one complete and put on what mods (if any) you want and save the time and effort?

“Shiftbox”? What a strange way of saying ‘transmission’. When I saw the smaller image on the Oppo page I didn’t see the ‘f’ in that word and then had to investigate why they’re asking so much for something they obvioously didn’t like.
If you’re going to go weird with the wording, go full-Brit and call an automatic transmission a “non-manual cog-swopper”
